2008

Dream Steam was started in 2008 by Alan Dunster.  The business began by bringing together the manufacture and supply of upgrades for the original Mamod live steam loco and IP Engineering Jane with the supply of the current incarnation of the original Mamod design of locos, rolling stock, track and spares, which are now made by MSS in Wales.

Feedback from customers suggested that those new to the hobby found most other general garden railway suppler websites confusing and not very user friendly from the beginner's point of view.  So we set about establishing a reputation as the on-line specialists for garden railway beginners. We carefully chose and extended the range of locos and rolling stock, based on value for money, ease of use and reliability. We then presented them  in a logical and clear format that made it easy to find and purchase.

2010

In Late 2010 Paul Fletcher joined forces with Alan to take Dream Steam forward with more resources and production capacity.

2011

August 2011 Alan Dunster left Dream Steam to concentrate on other business interests. The company is now solely owned by the Fletcher family, Paul, Ruth and Paul Senior.

2012

Summer 2012 Dream Steam are proud to announce that we have become a stockist for Mamod locomotives.

2013

Future plans, Customer support and feedback is very important to the team. We have several exciting new products in the pipe line for 2013 but welcome suggestions on products you would like us to produce.
